The Anglesea Arms in Hammersmith do a really great Sunday lunch.
The inside is cozy and unassuming and just what a pub should be. There are also tables outside which are lovely in the Summer, it was just warm enough to sit outside today. There are no pretentious airs and graces to this pub and the food is amazing.
To start with, we ordered Scotch eggs served with a curried mayonnaise which were absolutely delicious. Look how perfectly runny the yolks were…
I had the confit pork belly with mustard mash and spring greens. The pork literally melted in your mouth and the crackling was perfect.
Whilst my friends had the Hake, baked tomatoes, cauliflower puree and spinach.
And the roast beef, roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and horseradish both of which were yummy, apparently.
For pudding we shared the apple and ginger crumble with custard.
And the white chocolate crème brulee with raspberries, which was out of this world. I’m definitely going to try and recreate this at home, and I love the slice of crème brulee rather than having it in a pot.
I would definitely recommend booking a table for Sunday lunch to avoid disappointment – http://www.anglesea-arms.com/
