When the ravishing Aphrodite was reclining in her scallop shell with Eros standing close by, I’m pretty sure she could occasionally be spotted sipping from a perfect pink rose petal Martini.
This drink combines rose petals, lycees and lemon and is seriously like being kissed by Tinkerbell. So pucker up.
It’s sweet but somehow not too sickly. But be warned, these are so delicious they slip down a little too well. You could be dancing on the tables after a few of these, although that’s never been a bad thing.
My mum went to a party where they were serving them and she knew that I would love them, so asked the caterers how to make them. The kind people at Table Talk promptly sent over a box of goodies with all the ingredients and a recipe card. Heaven.
- 40ml vodka
- 30ml lycee juice
- 25ml rose petal liquor
- 12.5 ml lemon juice
- If you have a cocktail shaker, you lucky thing you. Pop some ice into your shaker and add all the ingredients. Give it a good shake and strain into glasses
- Garnish with a beautiful crystallised rose petal, or a mint sprig and a raspberry would be lovely too
- If you don't have a cocktail shaker, you can easily use a jug and just strain the ice out with a sieve. You will not look like a snazzy cocktail pro. But you will get to drink this delicious drink, so you will still be a winner!
- To add even more panache...(as if you need it) I dipped the rims of my glasses in pink shimmery glittery sugar. If in doubt, I say always add a bit more pink shimmery glittery sugar.
