I have been so busy recently, rushing around and working long hours that I feel like my skin has taken a bit of a hit. So I’ve been trying to nourish it from the inside out. You may have seen from my Instagram (@madebymargie), that I’ve been really rather getting into my juices. Yes, really rather.
I wanted to tell you about a new discovery of mine. Now I’m not trying to claim this flavour combination as my own, but it is new to me, and I wanted to share it with you in case anyone else out there has been frightened of a juice. A juice made of carrots that is.
Carrot apple ginger juice is filled with Vitamin A which is fantastic for your skin. The skin is such an important organ, in fact it’s the largest organ in the body, so it’s important to look after it. Glowing skin not only makes you feel great, but it is a great indicator that everything else is going well.
Honestly, if you feel that the colder weather and the busy pace of life are making your skin look a little tired, try knocking this up and drinking it every day for a week and see if your skin looks better. I promise you it will!
I love the colour of this juice, how can you not feel happy when drinking something so deliciously vibrant? But it’s also this simple flavor combination that works so well, especially when it’s jazzed up with a spicy shot of ginger. This juice is amazing at nipping an oncoming cold in the bud. If you start sniffling, get drinking lots of carrot and apple juice with loads of extra ginger, and you will be bouncing around in no time! Don’t let the sniffles get you down. Ginger is also an excellent tonic for the entire digestive system so will do more than just bust that cold of yours.
- 4 large carrots
- 2 large apples
- a good sized knob of ginger (depending on how spicy you want it. I normally go for about an inch, but be warned that does make it quite fiery!)
- You may need to peel your ginger, depending on your juicer.
- Otherwise, just pop everything into the juicer.
- Serve preferably in a chilled glass and enjoy!
But if you don’t have a juicer..never fear. Just pop everything in a really powerful blender and add a splash of water. You will end up with a thick puree, which you then pour through a jelly bag or muslin cloth over a large bowl. Easy peasy.
I just love how gorgeous they look in these mini milk bottles and straws. So pretty, so delicious, and so nutritious! Don’t forget to sign up to the blog – just pop your name in the box on the right hand side and never miss a post again!
