For the kitchen and the people who hang out there…otherwise known as the best people.
I thought it might be helpful to put together a little list of desirable kitchen items. What with Christmas coming up, everyone will be beginning to think about Christmas presents or maybe you’ve started buying already you organised little beaver you. I thought it might be useful to share with you some lovely things that you could think about getting some of your loved ones / people you have to buy presents for.
Hopefully there are some ideas in here for what to get people who love to cook, people who hang out a lot in kitchens…or merely just those who have kitchens.
Some of these items I already have and some I am merely lusting after…erm hint hint to anybody reading this. But no, that’s absolutely not why I made this list.
Not at all.
I am always getting emails from lovely readers asking for recommendations for products, so I thought this would be a good place to start.
You might want to pop the kettle on as you have a look through this. Happy shopping.
So, first up. I don’t think any home kitchen is complete without a radio. I don’t think you can best the Roberts radio. They look great and are also really reliable. I have a trusty and by now very tattered pink Roberts radio which I love, but I also think this one is rather handsome
You can never have too many mugs. I like having a miss mash of different ones, but I also like it if within that I have a few of the same that match. The spotty ones are completely gorgeous. I love that they don’t have handles, there is something very comforting about clasping a mug that doesn’t have a handle and it also means that they can double up wonderfully as vases.
I love having flowers in my house, and the kitchen is no exception. This enamel jug is perfect for arranging flowers and obviously it also doubles up as…a jug.
I need one of these in my life. Is this, or is this not the coolest bottle opener you ever did see? Totally obsessed.
Candles are another thing that you just can’t have too many of. They light up any room…no pun intended and are just a lovely touch to have in a kitchen. I’m currently coveting this copper number…I mean is he just the snazziest candle ever? I need him.
My sister first introduced me to the joys of the fluorescent candle and I haven’t looked back since. They are awesome. Everyone always comments on them and as a Christmas present you can not go wrong.
Whilst we are on the topic…lets not forget the humble tea-light. I love them. They are such a simple way to add a soft glowing light to a room. These gorgeous copper tea-light holders would look beautiful on a kitchen window sill.
Aprons are no longer an item of clothing limited to Mrs Tiggywinkle. They can now be quite the fashion statement. Don’t believe me? Have a look at this gorgeous maxi one…Definitely cool enough that you could easily forget to take it off for the actual dinner party.
For the big spenders of you out there. You can go wrong with one of these. They look great unlike mine which needs to be swept into a cupboard to keep him out of sight. This is an investment piece, but if you are new to cooking I can promise you this will revolutionise the way you cook.
Now I am a sucker for anything gold. It’s a definite theme going through my house. Gold mirrors, gold candles, gold lights…Now I have my eye on this set of gold coloured cutlery. The cutlery I have at the moment is akin to the kind of cutlery you may have taken camping as a teenager. So it’s definitely time for an upgrade and I think this set could be just the ticket.
My kitchen is not complete with a good couple of notebooks. I am always jotting things down, whether it’s a new recipe, a shopping list or just a random thought or two. You can’t find prettier ones than these ones.
Measuring in cups can save you a lot of time. I love devising recipes using cups as it just seems so much less faff then having to get out the scales and having to meticulously weigh everything out. I challenge you to find a prettier set then this lot.
If you really love the person who spends a lot of time in the kitchen, spare a thought for their poor little hands. All that washing up can be really damaging on paws, so I can assure you any kitchen dwelling creature will be more than a little appreciative of some tender loving care for their hands. Think thats a boring present? I can assure it’s not! These are my current weapon of choice for both hand washes and creams.
And finally, if you’re looking for a light hearted little gift then look no further. This is the Sgt Pepper Grinder. Sure to get a smile.
Hope you’ve found that helpful!
Let me know how you’re all getting on with your Christmas shopping, I’d love to know!
