Ooooh look at this for a juicy line up? Twit twoooo. But today it’s all about the one second from the left. That’s right you little beauty, we are looking at you!
I absolutely adore this juice. It tastes as beautiful as it looks, and my goodness doesn’t it look gorgeous!
It’s like happiness in a glass. And it’s also great for your skin, which means it makes you even happier.
The mix of fruit and vegetables means this juice is the perfect balance between earthy flavours, freshness and sweetness.
I’m having a bit of a love affair with beetroots (and juices – just look at my @madebymargie Instagram!!) at the moment.
Beetroots are a powerful anti-inflammatory, containing Betaine, which is a nutrient that helps to protect cells, proteins and enzymes from environmental stress. Beetroots are great for cleansing and purifying the blood and liver which makes them very beneficial in the detoxifying process. They are also an amazing vegetable to juice as they have a high water content so you get lots of juice which is good news!
Carrots contain so many antioxidants such as Beta-carotene and vitamin C, which contribute to reducing inflammation in the body. They also contain skin-loving nutrients like silicon which promotes glowing skin and healthy nails. Yay!
All apples contain an amazing amount of immune boosting antioxidants. Red apples in particular contain an antioxidant called quercetin. Studies have shown that this antioxidant can help boost your immune system, in particular when your stressed out.
The ginger is such a great thing to add to juices as it gives it a delicious kick that not only enhances the flavours but also flushes your body with nutrients. Particularly good when you need a boost of energy of for when the dreaded cold strikes.
There is no doubt that this juice will make you…
And so it should, because…
- 2 Raw Beetroot bulbs
- 2 Large Carrots
- 1 Apple
- A thumb nail size cube of ginger
- If you have a snazzy juicer like mine, just pop all the ingredients through a juicer. No need to peel.
- But for other juicers, you might want to peel the ginger and beetroot.
- Mix with a spoon and pour into your glass!
Whip up a glass of this and you can pretend you’re Count Draculas date…no? Just me then….
