Anyone who follows my blog will know that I’m all about balance. I love profiteroles and pizza just as much as the next girl, but equally I love green juices and salads.
My whole approach to food centres around intuitive eating – it’s what I teach my clients, and is a complete game-changer for so many people. It’s a way of eating which means you can give up dieting forever, and you can literally have your cake and eat it too!
I’ll be honest, I don’t have juices that often, but that’s mostly because I absolutely HATE cleaning my juicer. I even got one that’s meant to be one of the easiest to clean, but even that can still feel like too much of a chore. It’s such a shame, as I do always feel great on the days I squeeze a juice in.
They’re a fab way of getting in lots of veggies, which is a total bonus if you aren’t keen on actually eating your greens, or are short on time!
I’m by no means a hardcore juicer, and can’t have the ones that are made solely of vegetables – to me they taste of swamp water! I always like to use apple or pineapple to sweeten my juices, so have a play around with your favourite sweet fruits when experimenting with this recipe.
The method is simple: peel anything that needs to be peeled, roughly chop anything that needs it, and then bung everything into your juicer (tip: if you don’t have a juicer, you can pop the chopped fruit and veggies into a blender with some water and then squeeze through a nut milk bag!) Have a little taste, and you can always adjust with a squeeze more lemon, a dash more pineapple etc.
As with many of my recipes, use this as a starting point to create something that’s perfect for you!
- 1 handful of spinach
- 1 apple
- 5 sticks celery
- ¼ cucumber
- juice of half a lemon
- 1 cup of chopped pineapple
- Simply bung everything into a blender or juicer and enjoy!
